Monday Morning Blue

My weekend was utterly wonderful, and I need to log it soon so I don't forget it. However, while sitting at my desk this morning my eyeglass frames broke. One of the arms that sit on your ear just snapped off at the metal joint. I am so peeved over this. I am way overdue for a check-up and (probably) a new prescription, but I was going to wait until after we change over to our new health insurance in July before doing anything. If I can't find a way to make them hold together for another week or so I'm not sure what I'll do...I'm so nearsighted. Bother.

In weird synchronicity, I had a contact lens decide to ritually disembowel itself while I was out shopping this weekend - was vaguely aware of an irritation in my eye, took my lens out to wash it, and discovered that it had inexplicably split itself neatly in half Never had that happen before.
(fortunately, was out with husband, so had driver for the journey home. Unfortunately, had no spares with me, and refused to cut short precious shopping time for a minor matter like being half blind, thus leading to an entertaining afternoon of drunkenly running into things and having to be rescued from oncoming traffic)
