I woke up this morning and before I had even gotten out of bed I had decided that today was the day I was going to buy myself a new pair of glasses. This is something I had been considering for some time because on the one hand, it's kind of nervous-making to be totally dependent on your glasses and have only one pair, and on the other hand I have some extra flex plan money available. So, it was off to the eyeglass shop! I went back to the place I got my first pair from, because it's a local place and I was very happy with the quality and service I got the last time I went there.

I had intended to get a pair with fairly large lenses because I wanted to get photograys, but while looking at the racks I discovered a pair of Elizabeth Arden frames that had roses on them and, well, I don't really have to say more than that, right? I tried them on for the clerk to see and she assured me that they looked cute, so I went with them. (Yes, I am assuming she was telling the truth. See "happy with past service" above.)

The EA's are steel-colored, so I will have eyeglass frames in both warm and cool colors. I will be able to choose which frames to wear based on what colors of clothing I am wearing! I am sure this qualifies as some sort of leveling-up in my fashionista evolution.

Afterward I decided to treat myself to some Youth Dew bath oil, something I'd wanted for a long time. Getting new glasses is a big and slightly scary undertaking, and I wanted something to settle my nerves. This turned out to be slightly more complicated than it should have been. I went to Dillards first because they were running their Estee Lauder gift special and as long as I'm getting the bath oil, why not score some lipstick and eyeshadow? Sadly, they only had the one once bottle of Youth Dew bath oil. That wasn't enough to get me the freebees, but I only wanted the bath oil so I just got it and left.

A few minutes later while I was looking through the jewelry counter at Younkers the thought slowly bubbled to the surface that Younkers had an Estee Lauder counter, and they might have the two-ounce size. They did, so I got the large bottle them and returned the small one to Dillards.

This probably seems like a lot of trouble for bath oil, but my philosophy of Youth Dew is 'go large, or don't go at all'. For less than ten dollars more you get twice the product, so it's clearly the better buy. I'm also told that some women wear the bath oil as a lighter alternative to the eau de parfume spray, and I want to experiment with that. If it works, I'll have a Youth Dew perfume I can take through airports. BWAHAHAHAHA!
