I'm sorry to hear about the fountain pen trauma! But yes, totally keep/pick up some cheap pens to take apart. Learning how to do it is very liberating.

I must try Dragon's Hide sometime. I've been wary of BPAL's leather scents because some of them are headache-inducingly vile on me (and most other BPAL scents don't do that to me), but that sounds kind of nice.
