The question of whether roleplaying games qualify as art has arisen on AEG's forum here. I'm posting a link because I think some of my readers might find the discussion interesting.

I have an opinion, of course, but I have refrained from posting. Partly because I fear that as a member of the Story Team I have the illusion of authority, and partly because I lack the time to do it justice.

Last night I was a very bad girl. There was about a dozen things that I could have/should have done, but instead I played in the Darkly Dreaming thread on the Winter Court forum.

Normally I have nothing to do with the WC goings-on, but in honor of Valentines Day one of the GMs had set up a nightmare thread, and then he invited me to participate. I told myself I needed practice writing horror and jumped in. I made sure to claim Certain People in advance, because if you can't chew a friend's brains out with a Oni no Hat then whose brains can you chew?

It was probably the funnest Valentines Day I've had in years.
