Honey, we're on TV

On Tuesday we had camera crews from BBC America (I think that is what it's called) filming in the store. They were doing a segment for a reality TV show called "Honey, We're Killing the Kids". The premise of the show is to take a family with bad lifestyle habits and show them how to revamp their lives into something healthier. It has been (apparently) quite popular in the UK, so there are now American and Australian versions.

Anyway, for the upcoming season one of the families chosen is from a smaller city near (in Nebraska terms) Lincoln, and OH is the nearest natural food store. (We sometimes get referred to as a health food store, which is incorrect: we sell far too much Ben & Jerry's and potato chips for that to be true.) The production company called our general manager up and asked if we would be ok with them filming in our store. Are we ok with free national TV exposure? Yes, please.

I wasn't in the day they were filming--I woke up with a horrible upset stomach that morning and decided that having a nauseous bakery manager on site was not in anyone's best interest. Besides, they were going to concentrate filming the produce aisle and the seafood counter so there wasn't any particular need for me. I'm looking forward to seeing the episode, but I'll have to find a friend with cable to go watch it.
