Random hair note

I have been experimenting with wearing my hair in pig-tails this week. I don't think I've worn pig-tails in...three decades, at least. I've avoided them because I was sure that having hair stick out of the side of my head would make me look stupid(er), but this week I was desperate enough to try it anyway--the heat was making me sweat and the pony-tail I usually wear at work was keeping all the moisture trapped at the nape of my neck. It was maddening!

It turned out to be better looking than I had expected. It seems that if your hair is long enough, it flows down instead of sticking out horizontally Pippi Longstocking-style. (I devoured those books as child and loved them deeply. But I feel no need to copy Pippi's hair.) I consulted some trusted co-workers who said it was cute, which is promising. It's much cooler than a pony-tail (ah, to feel cooling wafts of air on the back of my neck!) which is somewhat of a deal-maker this week.
