Meanwhile back at the ranch...
Sep. 1st, 2010 07:29 pmAbout, hmm, a month or so ago I wrote about how I had been a zombie in a video. Well, that video is now on the web for the viewing pleasure of my friends. You can find it here at My Co-op Rocks, along with some other coop's videos, and the opportunity to vote on the one you think is the best. I will not tell you that the one with me in it is the best, but I will ask you: What could be better than me as a zombie?
Otherwise, work this week has been annoying in fairly non-disastrous ways. I've had to write up two employees, I forgot to set my alarm Tuesday and showed up to work late, I've got multiple large projects in the air, we just realized that there is a food holiday next week. (Note: in our usage, a food holiday is one which has a food, especially a baked good, traditionally associated with it and which our customers might want to buy from us.) That holiday, by the way, is Rosh Hashanah and it calls for challah in a special shape. It's also one of the times we make our special fruit challah, a recipe I am quite proud of because I developed it at a customer's request.
It's also the weekend of Labor Day, which brings about its own frenzy. It's the last big cook-out weekend, so we are gearing up for lots of dessert-type items and packages of cookies. It's also a weekend that I will be out of town, having been invited to Magecon to be at the L5R tournament there. I'm looking forward to it--August started out fun, then turned frenzied and somewhat depressing, and hanging out with some friends sounds like a good thing.
