Living spaces

I know, it has been a while since I've updated, but I've been busy. I hope to do a post on some of what I was doing (SAMURAI CHAMPIONSHIP GLOBAL TOURNAMENT!!!!!), but for now I'll just say a few words on where I'm living.
Next month at this time I'll be living somewhere else.
It was one of the odder application/negotiations for a lease that I've had, but whatever works. I've notified my current landlord of my departure (and am waiting to hear if he's going to be fussy over not getting a full month's warning), and will be signing the actual lease with the new one this week. I've already started bringing boxes home (one of the advantages of working in a grocery store: everyready box supply) and have been doing a little packing.
Most of the packing will need to be done closer to the move, however, as I lack space to store all of the boxes-of-stuff. What my big priority now is getting rid of stuff I don't need and sorting papers. I hate sorting papers, so the move is good for making me do it. I'm hoping that in the course of my labors I find my original lease, as it is the only proof I have now that I paid a deposit on the place.
I've taken the day after Thanksgiving off so I can do more packing and cleaning, and that Friday-Saturday-Sunday is when most of the packing, moving, and cleaning will be done. I need to find out when I have friends available to help, and what pizza places will be running specials that weekend. :-)
I'll also need to figure out how to change my mail and get all the utilities switched off/on. This may sound trivial, but I haven't needed to do anything like this for 15 years and it's easy to forget information that you don't use.
Last night I had a very bad dream about moving, so disturbing that it work me up a little. Happily I don't think my dreams are prophetic, but it still made for an unhappy morning. I think mostly it was caused by the stress in my life last week, and was using moving because I'd been packing yesterday. I'm hoping that is the last one I have!
In the mean time, I'm going to think reassuring thoughts to myself and focus on how nice it will be to have an apartment with a bath tub. Not having to take the bus to work will save me quite a bit of time, but for the first month or so I think the time savings will be eaten up by long, hot baths. *bliss*
