Trying to get things together
Dec. 16th, 2006 10:17 amOdd...the look of the update journal page has changed. I have no strong feelings about it, but it is a little surprising.
The morning's half-gone, and I'm still lingering over tea. This is not a good thing. I have errands to run, Christmas shopping to do, stuff to bake, clothes to wash, etc. Part of my problem, I think, is that I had a bad night last night. When I got off work yesterday I was so tired I had to sit and my desk and read for awhile to get the energy to drive home, but when I finally climbed into bed I couldn't sleep. I hate it when that happens. So now I have a mountain of things to do when I'm already behind *and* listlessness.
Also, I'm running around in circles on what to do with my best friend Karin's Christmas gifts (which I haven't finished wrapping or anything). She lives on the East Coast so I should get them into the mail today if I want them to arrive before X-mas (hah!) but I still don't know when/if she and her husband are going to be doing any traveling this year. They told me this summer that they wanted to go someplace warm for Christmas (like, you know, a cruise), but when I spoke with them in November they still hadn't made plans, and when I spoke with her sister at the smorgesbord she thought there was a possibility they might come to Lincoln after all. I'd really like to know, but calling her up and demanding, "So, have you FINALLY made up your mind?" shows a certain lack of holiday spirit, not to mention sororal love. Also, this is finals week, so Karin's going to be consumed with grading exams and getting grades in--not a good time to bug her about trivialities. I guess I'll just fall back on my traditional arguement that Christmas lasts until Epiphany and mail them when I finally figure out when they will be home to receive them.
