Holy Basil pt 2, or: How I garden

Remember the holy basil I was raving over two weeks ago? Well, when I had picked off the leaves for my cooking projects I had left a few on the stems and stuck them in some glasses of water in hopes I could get them to root. This morning I pulled a handful out to look and--ROOTS! Beautiful white tender roots! So now I will have more than enough holy basil to take over the world cook with this summer.
Also, my state tax refund arrived this Saturday so I took a small slice of it and went to buy some plants. After some consideration I got two packs of peach-coral dianthus, a lemon verbena, a lemon basil, a French tarragon (accept no subsitutes!) and a golden varigated thyme. This, together with the two heirloom tomatos and the parsley I got last weekend should get my garden off to a good start--now I just need to go rummage in the basement for my seed collection. It's almost time to plant green beans.
