Feast of the Innocents
Dec. 28th, 2006 08:52 amToday I learned that I share a birthday with Emperor Rokujo, Stan Lee, Denzel Washington, and Nigel Kennedy. Auspicious company, to be sure!
Good things in my life: My dad gave me some cash as part of my Christmas/birthday gift, and so I've decided to use some of it to finish out my Rurouni Kenshin manga collection. I haven't had a chance to read RuKen recently, and have been having great fun catching up. I <3 Aoshi. And Hajime. And Megumi--"I don't have a medicine to cure stupidity!" Oh, haven't I had days like that!
I also bought a clothes-drying rack. I air-dry most of my clothes because most of them need to be dried delicately and I don't quite trust the laundromat machines. (Oh, the perils of the way of the fashionista!) After having destroyed several cheap wooden racks I bit the bullet and got a nice solid metal rack. I set it up last night and it's really nice--it has lots of space to hang things on, and a detachable mesh 'shelf' for drying delicate sweaters and such. I'm very pleased.
Also, I got a package from
helen_keeble Tuesday evening. It was filled with goodies: two books on writing she sent for a visit, a handful of cd's stuffed with animie goodness, and a clutch of BPAL imps. Reading the lables on the imps made me laugh, because the whole collection seemed so, so Helen. I haven't quite gotten up the courage to try Embalming Fluid, but Rose Cross and Muse were both really nice.
I'm going to sign off now and get ready for work. That's another good thing: though there are parts I don't like, over all I really like my job. In fact I now have two jobs, both of which are my hobbies. How many people are that lucky?
