I love TSA's security procedures. They allow me the pleasure of listening to white liberals argue that racial profiling is bad, except when its absence results in situations when white people are subjected to random intrusive body searches.

I'm reasonably sure that if I were not white I would find this even more annoying, but even so I find it pretty annoying. Operationally speaking, profiling for terrorists is the same as profiling for car thieves (or whatever it is police allegedly look for), so if it is a civil rights violation in one case, is it also in the other. "But I might get strip-searched by minimum wage para-governmental drones" is not, in and of itself, a reason to make it all right.

I suspect the really maddening thing here is that as I am human, I must also be prone to this kind of doublethink, and I am completely oblivious to it.
