I should have been writing this weekend, but because of various issues ended up mostly doing research or bothering people who might have the answers to my questions. Thus, I have been most productive doing housework. Spent a lot of doing dishes: still have more, but am no longer assailed by deep feelings of despair upon entering the kitchen. In the process I washed up my new set of drinking glasses, which are actually bud vases from the local dollar store that I repurposed. They have a red rose design, so I wanted them. One of my friends has started twitting me about all of the flower-themed stuff I own, which I think is terribly unfair. I would love to buy decorative stuff with motifs of some of my other interests, but when was the last time you saw drinking glasses or dinnerware with astronomical themes? And no one will ever make summery rayon dresses with pictures of blue-water navy ships on them, so again what else can I do but buy the floral stuff on the racks?
Speaking of dresses, I've also made progress on my travel-induced laundry backlog. There are parts of my bedroom where you can actually see floor! I need to keep up the effort on that; we are supposed to have hot weather this week so I'll be doing my usual summer survival thing of coming home from work and immediately changing into something light and cool, which means I can run up to three clothing changes in a day. That can add up after a week.
Didn't garden and feel no guilt because Thursday we got 2" of rain and everything is still sodden. I did stop by a hardware store and get more poles for growing beans on. I estimate Monday or Tuesday it should be dry enough for me to get in and do stuff. And now to get ready for bed.
