So where was I?

In what has become a reoccurring pattern, most of my days this week were 9 hours long or longer. There are people that wouldn't affect (Dad, I'm looking at you), but that much continuous production on top of last week's sinus issues and continuing workplace stresses is really sapping me. My days are never going to go back to normal, because my department is short-handed, the GM keeps haranging everyone to trim labor hours, and I'm on salary. Joy.
Not going to discuss L5R, because then I'll just rant.
Christmas is coming, and I'm determined to get everything bought and wrapped before December 24th. With as small a list as I have you would think that would be easy, but somehow I find ways to mess it up. So far I've had to make multiple attempts to find things for my mom, who is usually the easiest person on my list to shop for. And getting to the post office when I have to work long days all the time is, well, problematic. I might have to figure out the fancy systems that let you print out postage on a computer printer and then just hand it to the mail carrier when they show up at work.
In happier news, Judgement Night is now officially a thing: I have five players, we have agreed on a night to play on come January, and I've sent out the first round of information for them. I am eager to see what kind of characters they come up with, both out of simple curiosity and because the sooner I can figure out how to engage their characters with what is going on the better. I am beginning to think that this was an even better idea than I dreamed, because it's giving me an attainable short-term goal that is fun and satisfying to carry out. Writing the story was especially fun! I really need to do more non-L5R writing. Except that the game will now be eating up all my non-L5R writing time. Well, at least I will have social time from it. And a cleaner apartment.
I'm also still enjoying using my fountain pens. I do have the slight problem I've become bored with the ink I bought as a work ink, Lexington Gray. It's a nice color with good handling characteristics, but I've used it for several months now. I want a change. I think it's time to go though my ink sample collection and see what I have that is bulletproof, or at least has good water resistance. Once I go through a bunch of samples I think my fondness for Lex Gray will come back.
