Taking a break

I decided I just had to do something that wasn't my current story, so here I am. (After reading 3 pages of FIGHT! between Matsu Kenji and Toritaka Tatsune, that is.) I have updated my progress bar, but that is only a hazy guess: the longer I write on this story the longer it gets. (That sentence really does make sense, though maybe only to another writer.)
I ended up calling in sick today. I was cold at work yesterday (which is always a bad sign), and I woke up this morning with a raw, scratchy throat. Worse still, I had vivid, memorable dreams overnight which for me is always a marker for fever (or pepperoni pizza), and fever is nature's way of saying 'stay the hell away from other people's food'. So I stayed home and nibbled away at the story that would not die.
One of my dreams, btw, was of me being trapped inside of a cyberpunk novel by Walter Jon Williams about the life of a UPS driver. I was very disturbed when I woke up.
Back to the salt mines!
