Climbing the Third Stair

Today is a day of pure gamer-geek joy for me.

I play (when I can find the time!) a CCG called Legend of the Five Rings--L5R for short. Years ago I pledged to never run Shadowlands cards in a constructed storyline tournament and joined a group of like-minded players who called themselves the Legion of the Jade Hand. As a group we've had triumphs, setbacks, and changes, but against all odds the Legion still exists. I personally give a lot of credit for that to matt_dalen, who established the Legion's website and made it the source for L5R tournament data.

Today, as on nearly every Friday, an official L5R story was posted on the AEG site: Peace at the Point of a Sword. And in this story, the Legion of the Jade Hand became a canon entity. ( Joy! And Spoilers! And Joy! )

I wish I could say that I used my Awesome Storyteam Powers to have this done, but the truth is this was Someone Else's idea: my only contribution was to keep my mouth shut. There were points when this was much harder than it sounds.
